So! Auspicious is a very small enterprise run by husband and wife Hess and Jennie Strengers and (on occassion) older daughter Zoe.  We have been running our importing business full-time since having sold our shop in August 2002 after 20 years of retailing.  We always prided ourselves in finding the interesting and unusual to sell in our shop on our frequent overseas visits.  It seemed a natural progression into wholesaling and bringing to other retailers these unique products that we source from SE Asia.
 
We now live in the beautiful rolling Strezlecki Hills in Southern Victoria, and import small quantities of our favourite goods from SE Asia.  By being essentially home based (our warehouse is in the old butter factory in Kongwak itself) and using only our own labour we are able to keep overheads down.  The end result is competitive prices, personal service and a cordial working relationship.
